Reciever
In The Ear Technology
What is a receiver?
A
receiver is another term used for a speaker, for example, you could
call the speaker in your television or radio a receiver. It receives
electrical signals and turns them into soundwaves.
What's
the difference between new RITE (Receiver In The Ear) technology and
older hearing aids.
RITE aids simply have the speaker in the
ear canal, not behind your ear.
What difference will
an RITE aid make to me?
With RITE aids, the size of a hearing
aid can be reduced leading to a better cosmetic appeal. It
gives a better frequency response to a micro or traditional tubes.
There is also a reduction in feedback (whistling sound).
Can
RITE aids be used with moderate to severe hearing losses?
Yes
